Birds Fall in Finale

The Orioles final game of 2010 ended with a loss, as the Birds fell to the Tigers 4-2 on Sunday afternoon at Camden Yards.

Brad Bergesen (8-10) took the loss, though he pitched a solid game. Bergesen took a no-hitter into the fifth inning but ended up giving up three runs on four hits while walking none and fanning four over seven innings.

The O's took an early lead, scoring once in both the first and second innings, but it wasn't enough. Nick Markakis went 3-for-5 with an RBI and ended the season with a team-best .297 batting average.

With the loss, a season of disappointment finally came to an end, as the Orioles finished last in the AL East with a record of 66-96. The O's have had an incredible past two months though, and the future looks promising for this club under Buck Showalter.
